The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.


Your challenge!

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is tasked with implementing and executing the strategy to maximize the unit's operational efficiency. In collaboration with the Production Manager, you will also ensure the implementation of a culture of engagement, continuous improvement in health and safety practices and quality management.


Job Responsibilities
YOUR RESPONSABILITIES
Accountable

- Meet production standards
- Engage and develop all your employees
- Ensure compliance with business processes and ONE Certification standards
- Ensure quality targets are met
- Manage non-standard products
- Ensure the accuracy of operation parameters and provide MRP values

Responsible
- Carry out workforce planning and ensure approval of hours worked
- Ensure training coordination (upon hiring and on an ongoing basis)
- Ensure constant communication with employees (floor rounds, logbooks, etc.)
- Coordinate follow-up meetings to ensure targets are met and employees are held accountable
- Carry out monthly OHS audits as well as accident investigations and analyses
- Monitor OHS improvements and adjustments
- Address target shortfalls (KPIs) and coordinate applicable action plans
- Plan and coordinate continuous improvement activities
- Support teams in problem solving
- Support your scheduler in establishing the optimal sequence for product production within the time frame established on the basis of business rules
- Ensure the management of transactions in the computerized operations management system in accordance with business rules
- Confirm and resolve anomalies in the computerized operations management system

Bachelor's degree in Pulp and paper
Desired experience
  1. Experience in supervision and the manufacturing environment preferably paper industy
  2. Knowledge of lean manufacturing
  3. Leadership and collaborative spirit to engage teams and achieve results
  4. Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasts
  5. Good Listening skills
  6. 1-5 years of manufacturing experience in quality, engineering or supervision
  7. Internships highly desirable

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
