Technical Service Supervisor/Reliability Engineer

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

Your challenge!

As the Technical Services Supervisor/Reliability Engineer for Cascades, you will have a diverse work load to support the manufacturing needs of our St. Helens mill. The successful candidate will partner with various departments to identify areas of opportunities and monitor KPI's. This individual will supervise engineers and interns to determine the best methods to ensure continuous operations and improvements.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Be a leader in establishing a strong and innovative culture in maintenance and reliability;

  • Perform analyses of master data from the CMMS systems and work procedures and bring concrete and innovative proposals to each group;

  • Be a technical reference for our mill by issuing recommendations during failure analysis and / or for non-performing equipment;

  • Act as guardian of good practices in maintenance and reliability;

  • Act as an overseer for maintenance and reliability;

  • Maintain assets by developing tools and processes (master data) and acting as a resource in the steps preceding and following their implementation;

  • Contribute to the achievement of operational objectives (productivity, profitability, maintenance, etc.);

  • Maximize synergies and integrations in Cascades' business units.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or Chemistry.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a paper or pulp mill.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
