Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical and Instrumentation

The Tissue Group, a division of Cascades, is the second-largest tissue producer in Canada and the fifth-largest in North America. The Division manufactures, converts and markets a huge selection of paper products, such as hand towels, bathroom tissue, facial tissue, napkins, paper towels, wipers and dispensers for the North American away-from-home and consumer products markets. The Group has more than 2,200 employees and operates seven manufacturing plants, nine conversion plants and four plants with both manufacturing and conversion facilities.

The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate with other team members to optimize maintenance work flow and be able to respond quickly to production issues. The ideal candidate must have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment which would require someone to be innovative and resourceful when overcoming challenges. They will also have solid decision-making skills and a strong sense of initiative and decisiveness.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Your role will encourage, develop, supervise, and motivate a department of mechanics while maintaining equipment, increasing efficiency, and contributing to the safety and success of our mill.
Provide leadership in implementing and maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Effectively communicate results and action plans to appropriate employees and managers
Direct maintenance staff in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer service; to include review of work schedule, equipment and supplies required to perform the maintenance schedule and prepare for operations including: safety checks, repairs, maintenance and preventative maintenance assignments
Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize safety, manufacturing, quality and productivity goal attainment
Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting, problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and to limit downtime
Coordinate, plan and supervise the installation of equipment, procurement of utilities, movement and relocation of equipment
Help manage maintenance department costs within budgetary guidelines
Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime and inefficient operational issues
Ensure all plant maintenance operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment
Special projects and assignments as needed for business
Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed Journeyman Electrician (preferably from Oregon)
OR Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering
OR 5-10 years of significant electrical and maintenance experience
3-5 years of supervisory experience
Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably in the tissue and paper industry)
Strong and proven electrical troubleshooting
Strong PLC background
Good understanding and utilization of preventative and predictive maintenance tools
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
Able to prioritize demands to maximize customer satisfaction
Able to adapt and multi-task in an environment with continually changing priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and using a computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
